2nd Devlog: Gameplay Prototype

For all of the artists and team members who where unfamiliar with Unity. We all took a crash course learning and exploring the basics of the program. From assets, shaders, materials, and lighting. With the knowledge that we have, we where able to create a working prototype with the main movement and level design blocked in.

Started on a rough concept and blockout of the character. Even though the game will be played in the first-person view. Only showing mostly the hands and legs of the character, we thought it would be a good idea to make a small cohesive design of the character to make sure we have everything on point.

We experimented with the visual effects graph to create some particle systems.
This will be handy for when we have to create particles for our game like
electric sparks, water drops, fireflies.
We can also chain together multiple effects with events like the On Die event.
Furthermore we did some testing with the shader graph to get used to working with it.

Creating the fog to be more threatening we needed to give the player more pressure using visual ques. For this problem we implemented sound in the fog, we are using 3D sound so the player knows where the threat is coming from. Becoming louder and louder as it chases you down the level. As well as a vignette obscuring the players vision when the player is in the mist object. This system will be improved upon. Most likely replacing the vignette with a small fog animation. consuming your sight.
